Expiries & Recency

Expiries

Expiries warnings can be set for events such as your flying licence or medical renewal, simulator check dates, wife's birthday(!), etc..

When an expiry date approaches, the hourglass icon in PilotLog will turn yellow. If you have selected the email reminder option, you will receive an automatic email from our server. If an expiry date passes, the icon will turn red.

Recency

Recency monitoring can be configured simply, or used to monitor complex requirements. Provisional flights are included in these calculations, so a future expiry date assumes that you will fly any future provisional flights as planned.

As a minimum, enter a number of hours/landings/etc. and a number of days/weeks/months/years. For example, 3 landings per 90 days, or 50 hours per year.

If you have more complex requirements, such as 2 landings per 1 month at a specific airport in a specific aircraft type, you can enter this additional information. Multiple airports can be entered if required, separated by a slash, e.g. LHR/LGW/STN.

If you have entered custom numeric or yes/no fields, you can use these for recency monitoring. For example, if you have a display qualification, you can add a yes/no field for display flights. You can then add a recency monitoring requirement for, say, 3 display flights per 1 year on a particular aircraft type.
