Data Entry
Dates
Dates must be entered in the format chosen in your display preferences. Dates are always UTC.You can save time by entering partial dates. If you enter only a day, then the date will be assumed to be in the current month. If you enter a day and a month, then the date will be assumed to be in the current year.
Times
Times must be enterd in 24-hour format, as UTC. The colon (:) separator is optional to save time when typing. For example, 12:00 and 1200 are both valid. Similarly, leading zeros are optional, so 09:00 and 900 are both valid.Durations
When entering durations, the format chosen for hours totals in your display preferences must be used.Whole numbers of hours can be entered without minutes or decimals, so 2 will be equal to 2:00, 2.0 or 2.00 depending on your preferences setting.
To enter a partial number of hours, you must use the correct separator. If you chose h:mm, then you must enter 2:30, not 2.30. If you chose h.h then you must enter 2.5, not 2:30 or 2:5. If you chose h.hh then 2.5 or 2.50 are both valid.
Aircraft
Aircraft registrations are matched against our database when entered. When adding a flight, punctuation is optional, so G-ABCD can be entered as GABCD or G ABCD and will be recognised. When adding aircraft to the database, please type the registration in full, with a hyphen (-) in the correct place if applicable, to ensure accurate matching.
To save time when adding flights, you can specify a prefix in your preferences. This will be added to registrations that you enter so that you do not need to type the same text for each flight. For example, enter G- as a prefix, then instead of entering G-ABCD you can simply type ABCD.
